Infrastructure for a Functional Town
Siteki Town Council is prioritizing infrastructure development to enhance service delivery, stimulate investment, and support inclusive urban growth. With over 55% of plots still undeveloped and key public facilities in need of rehabilitation, the Council is implementing a five-year plan to modernize roads, utilities, and amenities. These efforts are part of Siteki’s broader vision to become a safer, smarter, and economically vibrant town.
Building the Foundations of a Resilient, Inclusive & Smart Siteki
Siteki Town Council is spearheading a comprehensive Infrastructure Development and Town Planning programme to reshape the town into a resilient, inclusive, and smart urban centre. Guided by the Infrastructure Development Plan (IDP), the Council aims to address longstanding challenges such as inadequate road networks, poor street lighting, degraded public amenities, and over 55% of plots remaining undeveloped. These issues have hindered growth and limited the town’s ability to attract investment and deliver essential services effectively.
In response, the Council is implementing a five-year strategic plan focused on rehabilitating roads and public facilities, unlocking idle land for development, and enhancing access and safety through improved urban design. Plans include installing streetlights, traffic circles, and signage, as well as promoting disability-friendly infrastructure. These initiatives are part of Siteki’s broader vision to become a SMART town—digitally integrated, economically vibrant, and built to serve the needs of its people today and in the future.
