About Rates

Notice of Rates Assessment for the Period 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026 (Issued in terms of Section 27 (1) of the Rating Act of 1995)

Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 27 (1) of the Rating Act of 19195, that Council has levied the following rates for properties in the Siteki Urban Valuation Roll.

PAYMENT OF RATES BY INSTALMENTS

Section 27 (2) of the Rating Act of 1995 permits payment of rates by monthly instalments. Ratepayers who wish to take advantage of this facility must contact the Town Treasurer or Finance Department as soon as they receive their rates notices.

PAYMENTS

Payment can be made direct at the Bank or via Electronic Funds Transfer using our banking details that appear in our rates statement and rate payers who opt for this option should ensure that the plot number is used as reference for proper allocation of deposit and proof of payment must be sent to the Finance Department as soon as possible. Rate payers can also pay at any branch of FNB, Eswatini Bank or Building Society, with plot number used as reference. Other options for payment of rates can either be cash, direct debit order (agreement signed at council offices), Eswatini MTN mobile money and swiping of debit cards/credit cards.

NOTIFICATION OF POSTAL ADDRESSES

The attention of all property owners in the Siteki urban is drawn to Section 37 (4) and (5) of the Rating Act which requires the owner of any immovable property shown in the Valuation Roll to notify the Local Authority of any change of his/her postal address within two (2) weeks of any change of his/her postal address. This provision is intended to assist the Local Authority to update its records for communication purposes between the property owner and the Council. Owners who fail to comply with the above-mentioned Section shall be guilty of an offence in terms of Section (37 (5) of the Rating Act, 1995.
