SITEKI – Siteki Town Council on 08 May 2026 proudly partnered with various healthcare stakeholders to bring essential health services closer to the people through a successful Health Promotion and Awareness Campaign held at the Siteki Bus Rank.

The initiative offered free healthcare services to commuters and residents of Siteki, including cervical cancer screening, HIV testing, blood pressure testing, diabetes screening, and treatment of minor illnesses.

The campaign formed part of our continued commitment towards promoting community wellbeing, preventative healthcare, and raising awareness on communicable and non-communicable diseases within our town.

A special word of appreciation goes to our valued stakeholders and partners whose support made the event a great success: Siteki Public Health Centre, Good Shepherd Hospital, Diabetes Eswatini, Georgetown University, and Siteki Nazarene Clinic.

We further applaud Nurse Bethwell for delivering an insightful and educational presentation on diabetes.

In his address, he highlighted the causes and differences between Type 1 ,Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes, while also emphasizing the importance of regular exercise, healthy lifestyle choices, and proper eating habits as key measures in reducing the risk of diabetes.

Indeed, it was a meaningful and impactful event that brought health services directly to the community while empowering residents with valuable health knowledge.
